Cookies are data created by a server and stored in a text file on the hard disk of your computer, tablet or smartphone; they inform the website of your use of the website and your behaviour patterns and preferences in order to remember user actions and preferences (e.g. language, login data).
Almost all browsers are preset to allow automatic saving of cookies on the user’s device. Cookies are used for different and various purposes, have different characteristics due to their specific function, and can be used both by the data controller and by third-parties. The categories of Cookies listed below and divided according to the classification proposed in Opinion 04/2012, relating to the exemption from consent for the use of Cookies, issued by the Working Group pursuant to article 29 within the European Union in accordance with the clarifications made by the Guarantor for the protection of personal data with provision no. 3118884 dated 8 May 2014.
Types of Cookies
- Permanent or session cookies
Cookies can expire at the end of a browser session (i.e. the period between the opening of a browser window by the user and its closure) or they can be kept for a longer period of time.
Session cookies are those that allow websites to link a user's actions during a browser session, and expire at the end of the session.
Permanent cookies are instead stored on a user's device between browser sessions, for variable periods of time, and allow you to store user preferences or actions with respect to a specific website.
- Technical and profiling cookies
Technical cookies are those used by the owner of a site, for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of information on an electronic communications network, or for the purpose of providing a service that has been explicitly requested by the user.
For the installation of these technical cookies, users' prior consent is not required, where technical cookies are used directly by the site operator.
Profiling cookies, on the other hand, are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages, consistent with the preferences expressed by the same part of surfing the net.
Due to the particular invasiveness that these cookies may have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed on the use of the same, through a brief notification (banner) present on the site, and that you must express your express consent in this regard the first time you visit the site.
This consent can be expressed in a general way, by interacting with the brief information banner on the Website's landing page in the manner indicated in this banner, or it can be provided or denied selectively, in the manner indicated below. This consent is tracked on subsequent visits. However, the user always has the option to revoke, in whole or in part, the consent already expressed.
- First-party or third-party cookies
A cookie can be a so-called first party cookie or a so-called third party cookie, based on the website or domain from which it originates. First-party cookies are, in essence, the cookies set and/or managed by the owner of the site itself. For these cookies, the obligation of the information and the acquisition of consent, in relation to their use, rests with the site owner.
Third-party cookies are, however, cookies set by a domain other than the one visited by the user. For these cookies, the obligation of the information and indication of the modalities for the possible consent and/or blocking of the cookies rests with the third party, while the owner of the site is obliged, exclusively, to insert the link to the third-party website on the Website where these elements are present.

One of the principles applicable to the processing of your personal data concerns the limitation of the retention period, governed by article 5, paragraph 1, point e) of Regulation 679/2016 (henceforth also the "Regulation") which reads "Personal data are stored in a form that allows the identification of the interested parties for a period of time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes for which they are processed; Personal Data may be kept for longer periods provided that they are processed exclusively for archiving purposes in the public interest, for scientific or historical research or for statistical purposes, in accordance with article 89, paragraph 1, without prejudice to the implementation of technical measures and adequate organizational requirements required by this regulation to protect the rights and freedoms of the interested party ".
In light of this principle, your personal data will be processed by the Data Controller limited to what is necessary for the pursuit of the purpose referred to in this Cookie Policy.
